A place to call our own… Galveston Island is a special place. Our approach to community service is supporting a balance between fun club/organizations and community service-oriented club/organizations through friendship building, getting things done together towards a common mission, and having fun along the way because life is short and precious.

Membership in Pride Center Galveston is voluntary. We do have a code of conduct, expect members to join and participate in at least one social club or service group, supporting and/or volunteering in the coffeehouse and/or in a leadership capacity. We also need members to stay current in membership and club dues, and financially support at whatever level they personally feel comfort contributing at this point in their life.

Member dues and sponsorship goes into the general fund for PCG CDC non-profit and helps pay the overhead costs for the organization. The board of directors make decisions how this money is spent.

  • Step Three: If you cannot find a Social Club or Group that interests you, and have an idea about new group to form, then discuss directly with Cowboy Matt and the leadership group at [email protected]

  • Step Four: After joining a club: be patient. the club leader and/or volunteer coordinator or both will be reaching out to you. Club Activity Fees

  • Individual Clubs will have activity fees depending on what is going on.

    When you join an individual club, and your club announces an upcoming activity, some of those activities maybe free or have a charge depending on the type of activity.

    For example, the Travel Club may announce a group trip to a campground or a cruise. You should always expect that is going to cost you money, and your going to have to pay your own way. The community center is not going to foot the bill for your vacation. Nothing in this modern world is free, always default that something is going to cost you something, even if a club leader makes a mistake, the community center is not responsible for picking up your tab. We are not your bank or sugar daddy. If your confused, probably someone else is too. If your uncertain, please ask the group leader for clarification.

  • An example of a free activity would be a combo board game & gaming night using the wifi/flatscreen in the board room and at the pride center meeting room.

    No cover charge, sober activity. Sponsored by the Gaymer club.

Who & Where are we?

  • Pride Center Galveston (PCG) is centrally located on Galveston Island.

  • We are the LGBTQ+ community center of Galveston Island.

  • We are within walking & biking distance to many neighborhoods.

  • We are on the golf cart friendly side of town.

  • Generally speaking we have two sides to the organization;

    Mission Oriented: Registered 501 c (3) Non Profit with a Volunteer Board of Directors and Membership driven leadership team.

    Things that don’t fit into the box: Some things just don’t fit neatly into an government check box, but they need to get legally done, or we want to do them together as a group.

    So we as consenting adults, can choose to do them, to make our world a better place.

Where should I park my car?

  • We have limited parking in front of the building.

    Please leave the spaces in front of store fronts for loading and unloading of suitcases, and folks running in and out of the Market place/bakery.

  • There is plenty of street parking adjacent to the building in this neighborhood, it is free.

    On weekends, and when it rains heavy the VA clinic next store is a safe place to park, the lot is well lite, and the clinic is closed on weekends.

Goals for the Organization

  • Membership Goal: Established in 2024, our primary goal for 2024-25 calendar years will be to quickly grow our support base through membership driven social clubs and groups.

  • Leadership Goal: Identify & Engage potential candidates for leadership positions throughout the entire organization; including;

    Board positions.

    Social Clubs.

    Service Clubs.

    Volunteer shift leaders.

    Special Event Organizers.

  • Non-Profit Goal: (CDC) Community Development Corporation: Primary mission objective: to purchase house or apartment building to provide low-income housing for our community.

    We will begin fundraising for downpayment/costs on a property. A capital campaign will be necessary in addition to membership dues and other funds raised.

  • Non-Profit Secondary Goals: (CDC) Community Development Corporation: Secondary mission objectives from a fundraising standpoint; as our community as a whole has many needs.

    To meet those needs, takes many dedicated, passionate people all doing their parts. We are a small island with limited resources and limited people.

    So as a community center, we will strive to put together a great team of volunteers. Hope you can join us, we are counting on you!
